We were at the Botanic Gardens the other day with a moms' group that I belong to...the kids played for HOURS just running through the bushes, climbing around and building with wood. We also fed the coy...

At The Fair

We went to the carnival with some friends. Cole went on his first Ferris wheel ride! We both got wristbands so we could ride all we wanted. We also rode a roller coaster (kiddie...just my speed!) and the carousel together.

This year Cole really liked the spinny rides. He went on them one after another repeatedly.

Wing Fest!

We all like to eat wings...so we went to the perfect place...a wing fest! You just walk around and sample all kinds of wings from teams that are competing for the best wings. You leave a donation at each table and the proceeds go to charity. Cole loved it! He wanted more and more and more wings! He even ate some spicy ones. He can't wait to go back next year.

He saw this and wanted his picture taken with it...he really liked New Orleans so when he sees something from there he gets excited.

Another Lucky Day

Our vehicle was being serviced overnight so we got a loaner...boy was Cole excited to ride in a different car! A year ago he didn't like riding in anyone else's car but NOW he is all for it.

So he played with the loaner car all afternoon...checking it out, pretending to drive me to the flower store, having me drive him to the Ford car lot...

After getting our SUV back and buckling Cole in, I noticed a car hauler pulling into the dealership. I got Cole out so he could see. Then I said, "Do you want to see where it went?" and everyone knows the answer to that!

We went to the back of the lot and there it was...ready to be unloaded! We stayed and watched. What a cool thing for Cole to see. We have read about how the cars come down, but seeing it in person was really neat for him.

Cole's First Passport

We are going to go to the Bahamas this summer (and want to get back in the USA) so we had to apply for passports. Cole HAD to pose with us for our pictures...his hair made it into mine which is appropriate since he is attached to my hip!

A Morning On The Farm

Cole's class took a really cool field trip to a local farm. The kids got to ride a pony, milk a goat, bottle feed a goat and cow, feed donkeys and goats bread, pet hens and baby chicks, feed rabbits...
We also took a hayride, ate lunch and played on the playground.
The weather was perfect! All the kids had a great time.
Cole's favorite part was playing at the playground...go figure!
Cole says: The ponies were really cute and sweet and he likes ponies very much.

At The Mazda Dealership

Cole saw the Mazda 3 on The Biggest Loser Tuesday, so he has been bugging to go to the Mazda dealership. Here he is in a Mazda 3 with a flag the receptionist gave him...

2010 Fad

Silly Bands are all the rage with the kids now. They are rubber band bracelets that are in the shape of an animal or other object. The kids wear them and trade them.

Here is the bracelet on and in it's original form...it's a cat.

I asked if his school buddy Eli has any Silly Bands and he said no. I told him Eli might be sad that he doesn't have any so he could share and give him one. I was happy that he agreed without hesitation. Then I was even happier when he said he gave one to a girl in his class...a girl he doesn't even really like a whole lot.

Lucky Day At The Park

When we were at the park the other day a kid drove up in his McQueen ride-on. Cole was riding his McQueen bike and the two traded. Cole was in his glory! He always checks that car out at Toys R Us, but there is nothing like driving one on the open sidewalk!

How He Changes...

Last month Cole told everyone his name was Johnny Poodles Patrick. Now it is Tom Jerry. He changes the kind of car he wants to get and which stuffed animal is his favorite. He is changing...getting bigger, smarter, more independent.

Every year I make a plate with his hand print and finger prints on it as a flower. I want to preserve the plates here in case they ever break...
