He just can't wait!

We went to Toys R Us yesterday to spend some Christmas money. When we got home Cole couldn't wait to play with all his new stuff. He ripped into everything right away...right in front of the garage door!

He got two new tag books and some matchbox cars.

Christmas 2008

Cole has been super sick all week. It started when we were leaving Nashville on Monday and has continued on. He had a crazy high fever for days and days and days...then coughing and runny nose. He is on antibiotics and hopefully will be all better soon.

I had special jammies for Cole to wear on Christmas morning, but they were fleecy so I didn't put them on him...b/c of the fever and all.

Cole was so excited Christmas morning. After most of the presents he opened he said "That's just what I wanted!" and "My Christmas wish came true!" It was really cute.

Here are some pictures of cookie making and present opening...

Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree

Cole's favorite Christmas song is Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree. He listens to it over and over again. He loves to sing it, but of course I want to tape him and he doesn't want to sing!!! Soooo, I bribed him! At the end you hear him start to ask if he can have his surprise now. Also listen for his "Southern Sentence"...he stops singing to talk about his hat.

For some reason I taped this with my camera held vertically instead of horizontally. (duh) so my friend Nic worked her magic and flipped the video around for your viewing pleasure.

One last thing...I had the weather channel on mute (b/c it was the night the freezing rain was supposed to come) but of course car commercials came on and distracted him.

My Sweet Boy

The boy melted my heart tonight.

When Dan came home tonight he had some change in his pocket. Cole took it and asked if it would be OK to put the coins in his car bank. We said yes. He ran down the hall, stopped, came back and said he would rather save the money for sick kids. (Awwww! I just ran to him and hugged him.)

We have been giving money to the Salvation Army when we see them...and last time we were in Wal*Mart they were collecting for a boy with leukemia. We have had many discussions about what the Salvation Army does to help people and why people collect money for sick kids. (He said he doesn't like that there are sick kids in the world.)

Cole has been really good this week...and now this. Merry Christmas to me! :)

Playgroup Christmas Party

Our playgroup had a Christmas party. The theme was "O Chrismtas Tree". We ate a potluck lunch, sang Christmas carols and made ornaments to hang on the tree. Cole didn't have the Christmas spirit...you'll be able to tell by the pictures.

Check out his shirt!!!!! It's Santa driving his monster truck!

Gingerbread House

Last week we made a gingerbread house. You know Cole couldn't help himself with all that candy! He ate a lot of it...and had a hard time waiting the 15 minutes for the icing to set. He had a good time. AND we actually kept the house around for a week or so. (last year we had to throw it out that same day!) Finally it had to go b/c Cole couldn't control himself and kept picking all the candy off. You know I can't be mad about that...I'm the same way around sweets! What's funny is that Cole comes right out and says it..."Mum, I can't control myself. I love to eat sweets!"
**We did have it out of his reach, but anytime it got moved he would get to it! He's a crafty fellow!

It all makes SENSE now!

First of all I would like to remind you that Cole is a sniffer. He smells everything! If I try to sneak a treat he'll notice and ask what I'm eating b/c it smells like chocolate. He loves to smell candles, food, me, anything! He's my 5 senses guy b/c he is also all about touching, tasting, looking and listening.

Anyway, today we went to see Santa. When it came time for the picture, Cole wouldn't look straight at the camera. I took some, the photographer took some but no luck. We finally gave up and just picked the best picture.

Tonight while I was reading a story we came across Santa. I asked Cole if he had fun seeing Santa today and he made the sound for no. I asked him why and he said "Santa forgot to brush his teeth when he was coming to town."

Now these pictures will make sense. (Dad, I can hear you laughing already!)
