At The Fair

A nearby city had a spring carnival. It was the place to be...we ran into a bunch of friends there! Cole enjoyed riding the CAR rides. He would stay on and ride 4 times in a row before I had to go pry him out of the car to try another ride. He played a few games...he won a car and an inflatable bat. He ate pizza and a corn dog...and some cotton candy. Ahh, the fair!

His first ride...the train.

His second, third, fourth and fifth ride...he HAD to have the corvette!
He also had to keep his eye on the track, (the carnival worker had his foot on it and Cole's car ran his foot over! You should have seen Cole's face! Of course it didn't phase the worker!) watch the wheels and touch the wheels. Curious Cole, gotta check everything out...gotta be looking at everything...gotta know it all!)

Hey! It's a movie Cars ride! Here he is in Ramone.

Cole and his buddy Tyler. They both LOVE cars and movie Cars!

Yay! More friends. Cole and Tyler are still in Ramone. "BradyBennett" as Cole calls the brothers, are in Sally.

Oh look, Cole and Tyler in another car ride...and yes, it is Cole's Corvette!

Cole playing the fishing game where he won the car.
Yes, Cole actually did ride a non-car ride! (Just one, though!) He didn't know what he was in for when Tyler picked this one...it lifted up into the air. Cole didn't like it. I could see him saying so. He made it to the end without freaking out or getting sick. He said he didn't want to ride it again...and then he made his way to the Corvette line.

These were taken before the attendant came around to lock the doors!

Cole's First Chapter Book

Well, I finally caved. I wasn't reading Cole chapter books b/c I didn't want to acknowledge that he was old enough for them. A bunch of my friends read chapter books to their kids...the Magic Tree House series, so I started with #1. (Cole has listened to 3 of the books on CD...Wendy's had them in their happy meals awhile back. You can buy happy meal toys for $1 and change if you don't want to get the meal...just a little fyi.) Cole liked the stories on CD and he liked the first book. He bugged daily for me to read about Jack and Annie. (yay!)

Cole's Shelfari

I have a Shelfari and I thought with all the books we read, Cole should have one too!

Here is the link...

Plus, you can always click on the shelfari shelf on the right side to see all of Cole's books.

Pajama Day!

Cole's class had pajama day this week. They were celebrating the letter P. They wore pajamas, had pizza for lunch and then snacked on popcorn during a movie. They also painted a pink pig with pudding...so it looked like mud.

It was not a surprise to anyone that Cole wore car pajamas.

Cole wasn't in the mood to pose for pictures, so I had to sneak this one...

Happy Earth Day!

In honor of Earth Day 2009, Cole and I went to a local nursery and got some flowers to plant and two hanging baskets for the backyard. Of course he had to "drive" the cart the whole time. He did great and was a good helper.

The Scoop on Poop

We went with some friends to a museum that was having a special exhibit...The Scoop on Poop! Yep, it was all about animal poop! There were videos of animals pooping, matching games with animals and their poop, petrified poop, rubber poop and many charts and info on poop! Cole liked a video of birds tossing dung as a mating ritual. The kids even ate "poop cookies" made by one the moms.

Poop Pals

Oh no, gotta go!

Look at all that poop!

This is the rubber poop!

Car Mosaic

I bought a car mosaic kit the other day and it was a big hit with Cole. We both had fun creating the picture together.

Future Photographer?

Um, it's pretty clear that I take a lot of pictures and always have a camera with me. Cole wants to be like me, so he wants to take pictures too. I got him a disposable camera to see how he would do before I buy him a kiddie camera. He loved it!! He took all the pictures in 5 minutes. He started at Walmart after I bought it and took some in the parking lot and then the rest in the car on the ride home. Here is the world from Cole's perspective...

These pictures were taken mid-March.

Spring is in the air!

Last year I remember driving by this place when all the trees and bushes were in full bloom but didn't have time to stop to take pictures. When we had a chance to go back, everything was done blooming. Well, I didn't forget and made sure I got there this year! Last week I drove by and thought I missed the bloom time again, but a few days later we rode by again and yay! everything was blooming! Here are some pictures of Cole...I had to bribe him to go and get his picture taken. When I told him we were going he started to moan, then I told him I would make it worth his while. After explaining what that meant, he said he would go but he wanted to be the boss. I agreed. Then he started making all kinds of claims and telling me what he wants when he was the boss. I told him that he could be the boss for ONE day. Well, he quickly changed his mind and decided that he wanted a car instead. Done!

Bossy

We were at a friend's house playing when this conversation was overheard:

Carter: (talking about a boy in his class) He's kinda bossy.

Cole: I'm kinda bossy. I boss my mom and dad around.

Lincoln Logs

Cole is into playing with Lincoln Logs. We build houses, garages, car washes, driveways and Police Stations for the cars.
