A fun day for Cole

"Mama Hyundai" needed her oil changed and tires rotated so (of course) I took Cole with me to the dealership. While the car was getting worked on we walked around and looked at the cars. He requested to see the Sante Fes and Accents. (Who the heck knows what a Hyundai Accent looks like? Yes, it is a real car!)
When we first pulled in he yelled "Why is there a Nissan Muriano in the grass?"


I shot 2 videos of Cole naming the cars in the used car lot. (Because of his speech it might be hard to understand some names...like Chevy Suburban and Ford Ranger.)

Zoo Day

Our playgroup went to the zoo... I guess it was a few weeks ago. When we got to the sea lions one little girl ran up to the glass and waved a leaf that she picked up. The sea lion followed it and her all around! It was so cute. Of course all the other kids went out to find a leaf so they could do the same.

Steelers Sunday

Cole was so excited that his friend Emily was coming over for the Steelers game. He went into the bathroom and fixed his hair for her! Awwww, it was soooo cute!

And yes, my boy loves his pink pony and pink pig...that does not make him gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

that I need to blog but never seem to have the time. I have a few minutes now so I am going to cross a few things off my list. Here we go...

Sometimes Cole will say to me, "I love you, grownup."

Cole was ripping something up (he loves to destroy stuff) and I asked him why he was doing that and he replied "Because I am that kind of boy."

Terminology Cole learned from his dad: floating air biscuits and "who cut the cheese?" One day we were driving by a field and I said it smelled like onions and Cole goes "Who cut the onion?"

OH MAN, the "why?"s drive me crazy! I know he is curious and his asking questions is good b/c he wants to learn and it will make him smarter, but sometimes the why? doesn't even make sense!!!! For example here is a conversation we've had.
Mum: We are going to the mall today.
Cole: Is it far away?
M: Yes.
C: Why?
M: Because it is half hour away.
C: Why?
M: Because that is where they built the mall.
C: Why?
M: Because that is where the wanted the mall to be.
C: Why?
Finally a why? paid off. I told Cole I would be right back b/c i had to pee. He said why? I said because my bladder was full. So one day he comes up to me and says his bladder is full and he has to pee.

Finally!!!!!

I finally sent out Cole's thank you cards from his birthday. Sorry it took so long. I would like to say that it was b/c I was waiting for the car postage stamps to come out, but as much as I think it is cool to use them, I wouldn't have waited on purpose...it just worked out that way. Cole picked out the car stamp for each envelope...personalized for each of you! Anyway, Cole also helped stamp his address and put on the stamps. I xeroxed his name for the inside of the card...b/c I knew he wouldn't sit and write his name 25 times! I know I will get questions about this, so I will address it now. Cole prints his name with the first letter capital and the rest small letters. This is not b/c kids should learn to print their name this way first...when I taught Kindergarten I taught the kids to print their names in all capitals first. But, as many of you know, Cole doesn't follow the same rules as other kids. He never did. His milesstones were when HE was good and ready to do them. So it came as no shock to me when I would show him how to write his name in all caps and then in lower case that he would pick up on the lowercase better. There is no right or wrong way for children to start writing their names. And backwards letters are common throughtout kindergarten and even first grade.

You'll never believe who WANTED their picture taken!

Cole loves all the fall decorations just like his momma. When I mentioned taking pictures by the pumpkins he said SURE! (I was shocked too!) Here are some pictures from his photo shoot.

Leaf Glitter

Here's another easy fall craft...you can even do this one outside!
you need:
construction paper, glue, crayon, scissors and crunchy leaves
Have your child draw a leaf on the construction paper and cut it out. Then spread glue all over it...and crush the leaves over it...and you have leaf glitter!

Candy Corn Cole

Just something we did the other day... all you need is glue, paper and candy corn! Write your child's name in glue on construction paper (or have them do it) and place candy corns down. Oh, and eat some too!

I'm a soccer mom!

I wanted Cole to play on a team for soccer or t-ball but knew he really wasn't ready for it until now. I wasn't wild about having to go to practices and games on misc. days and times so when a friend mentioned that this league doesn't have any practices, just show up early to the games (Saturday mornings for 5 weeks) to warm up and practice, I knew this was the team for us!
Cole got out and kicked the ball around during practice. Then he wasn't too sure of the whole structured game. (There were 5 year olds who have played before and were scoring goals quickly.) He got in the game 2 minutes in and "played" a little. Then he hung out with his little buddy on the field. (See videos below)
I had to laugh...there was one boy who just stood there, in one place, the WHOLE GAME!
It was cute to see Cole in his shin guards, big socks and soccer jersey.
