Thanksgiving Part 1 and 2

Friends of ours invited us to their Thanksgiving dinner...I was happy, but also sad b/c this would be the first year that we didn't have Thanksgiving dinner in our own house.

We went and had fun and a great meal. On the way home Cole said he didn't have any turkey. I told him that I put two different kinds on his plate. (deep fried and traditional) He ate a lot of ham and then was just focused on pumpkin pie and I guess he didn't eat any turkey. It made him sad. Me too! You are supposed to have turkey on Thanksgiving!

The next day Dan took Cole to Target for some Black Friday deals and Cole saw a turkey and reminded Dan that he didn't have any turkey for Thanksgiving. So, Dan bought a turkey and a lot of the fixins and we ended up having a little Thanksgiving meal in our own house! That made me happy. Cole too. Dan three.

The kiddie table...Ethan, Carter and Cole
Their grandma brought her dogs...Cole loved them. Here he is with Gracie. (They called her "Brady" instead b/c the Patriots were on TV and Ethan likes Tom Brady. The other dog was dubbed "Tom" by the kids.)
At our house...

Snuggling with "Bubba" while the other dogs watch from the table. Cole is never without his black lab stuffed animal. He goes everywhere with us!

Misc. November

Sorry Dad, I gave it to him early! But look what fun...
Boys and their toys!

Fun with friends at Chuck E Cheese's

Our Thankfuls

Everyday in the month of November we sat down to think of something to be thankful for. Then we would write it on a piece of paper and put it with the day on the calendar. (This year I added Thanksgiving words to the calendar for extra learning.) Here are some of our "thankfuls"...

**Dan was on Day 4, but kept getting moved around depending on if Cole was getting what he wanted. I saved him from the trash one day, but not from the secret hiding place that later became lost. Anytime Dan didn't give in to Cole, Cole would say "And that's why you are #4!"

Decisions, Decisions

Well, you know how Cole loves his shoes! He always wants a new pair and always likes to see what current pair looks best with his outfit. (Although lately the Nikes are worn everyday with everything, no matter what!) He even wants a new pair of Nikes for Christmas. That boy! Well, it seems that his Pilgrim friend also has trouble deciding which shoes to wear...

Munches On Treats

My friend Lori invited us over to play, and since I haven't been allowed to help out with Cole's class, I couldn't help but plan a little "Feast in the woods" for Cole and his friends!
Cole's "Indian Name" is Munches On Treats...that won out over Moans Like The Wind and Bugs Like Bee..haha! (Cole didn't find them funny...but loved Munches.)

Fun In The Leaves

The other day I raked some leaves for Cole to play in and jump in and run through. I wanted him to change into a fall colored shirt, but of course he wouldn't! He didn't want me to take pictures either, but I won that battle! :)

Thanksgiving Pottery

Every year before Thanksgiving we paint a piece of pottery to go on our Thanksgiving table. I don't want to forget them in case they ever break beyond repair...

Feeding the ducks

We went to the park to play with friends and feed the ducks. Cole liked throwing whole pieces in at once. When he saw the white duck he said, "Aflak's here!" I laughed then and I am laughing now! :)

#2 is under the pillow!

Cole lost his second tooth at school today! It has been loose for some time now, but after I yanked the first one out, Cole didn't want me anywhere near this one!
**I forgot to write this before...when he lost the first one he said "19 more to go!"**

Cole Lost His 1st Tooth!

My baby is growing up! He lost his first tooth! He was all worried about it. His dentist told him that he would lose his first tooth when he was 6. Cole never forgot that, and the night before he turned 6 he thought he would wake up and lose a tooth! After he got over that, he was worried about the tooth bleeding. And would it fall out and he would swallow it.
The tooth was soooo lose, that while I was wiggling it, it kinda stuck out straight from his mouth which REALLY freaked him out. I had to yank it out...then he was ok. The tooth did bleed, which Cole wasn't too excited about...but he forgot all about it when he ran in to tell Dan and pose for pictures.
THEN he was worried about the tooth fairy. When would she come? (He gets up in the middle of the night and comes to our room and lays on his nap mat.) Could he leave a note on his pillow that he was in our room and she could just leave the money? Then he was all curious why the tooth fairy would want teeth. And again, when would she come...and would she wake him up reaching under his pillow!
Cole wanted to document this occasion! He also wanted to make sure I put it on the blog!

I took this picture at the end of October. His teeth are so loose here, they are crooked!

Halloween Night

We went to a friend's house for dinner, Halloween Fun and Trick or Treating.
Cole went as a UPS man and his buddies were all characters from Star Wars.

The adults had chili for dinner while the kids had "mummy dogs" and Halloween mac and cheese.

Cole got tons of candy!!!!!

We had such a good time trick or treating!
**We told the kids that they couldn't eat any candy until we got back to the house b/c we had to check the candy. At one house Cole asked the lady handing out candy if it was poison!!!!!**
**Cole commented on all the candy he was getting and then said it would have been a good night for Mrs. Lori to be here. I asked why and Cole said "because she likes watching me eat candy!"**

Jack o' Lantern Night

Friday night we ate a Jack o' Lantern pizza while watching Halloween shows. Then we carved our pumpkin. Cole wanted it to look like a cat, but didn't want to help. No touching the seeds for Cole! Well, he did touch them after I baked them. He liked eating them for a snack.
We tried to count all the seeds from the pumpkin, but someone lost interest after we got to 200.
