Kiddie Winter Olympics 2010

Our playgroup had a "Kiddie Winter Olympics" last weekend. The kids marched in an opening ceremony, competed in three events ("speed skating", "skeleton" and "slalom"), received a certificate and medal and marched in the closing ceremony.

The kids had a lot of fun...and some were really competitive. (Cole being one of them!) He wanted to race against his best buddy Tyler in everything. Cole won the speed skating, Tyler won the slalom and they tied on the skeleton.

Cole was happy to get his medal.

The kids made red, white and blue snowflakes and hand print flags of a participating Olympic country to hang on the wall for decoration. They also brought a stuffed animal for their own personal mascot.

I made all the kids torches to carry for the opening ceremony...

Cole with his medal and certificate. His snowflake is the one directly left of him. He had a mishap with the scissors and trimmed too much! But hey, he did it himself and no two snowflakes are alike, right?! :)
